HangingOut3b.jpgAs the author and series editor of the Pocket Consultants, I've poured my many years of hands-on experience with advanced systems management, programming and development into every book. Currently, Microsoft Press and O'Reilly Media are preparing to release my newest books: Windows 8 Administration Pocket Consultant and Windows Server 2012 Pocket Consultant. Both of these books may be available by the time you read this. If so, I hope you'll take a look at the books to see if they're right for you. Odds are, if you work with Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, the books are for you, as I write the Pocket Consultants for all IT Professionals whether novice or seasoned professional.

When writing Pocket Consultants, one of my constant goals is to try to squeeze in as much value as possible. Pocket Consultants typically are less expensive than similar books and typically have more meaningful content than similar books. The reason for this is that I've always known that giving readers a terrific value as well as a terrific resource was greatest in importance. This means that pound for pound, dollar for dollar, Pocket Consultants have been and continue to be one of the best values around.

Often when people hear the term "pocket," they think of a diminutive book when what they should be thinking of is the phrase: pocket consultant. Printed Pocket Consultants won't necessarily fit in your pocket, but they will give you expert advice that might make you think you have your own personal consultant in your pocket.

Windows 8 Administration Pocket Consultant and Windows Server 2012 Pocket Consultant are both around 700 pages in length. Together, the books give you about 1400 pages of practical advice and ready answers.

Although the books can be used separately, you'll get the most out of the books by using them together. Why? Because I designed and wrote the books so that they could be used together. In doing so, I believe I made the whole greater than the sum of its parts. Use the books together and I think you'll know what I mean.

If you're reading this, I hope you'll purchase Windows 8 Administration Pocket Consultant and Windows Server 2012 Pocket Consultant and share your experiences reading the books with others. These days, I hang out online from time to time on Facebook. My author page is @ I'm also on Twitter @
