Going back to Portland

I've just about confirmed everything, so it it looks like I'm going back to Porti, back to Porti, back to Porti. No wait a minute, that doesn't sound quite right. Although.....if you know, me, then it's actually pretty funny.

Anyhoo, I've been confirmed. I'll be giving a session on Friday July 24rd, in the D136 at 11:00 am. The title of session is "Open Source E-Publishing Tools." While the topic morphed quite a bit, the core premise that the session is founded upon is that publishing as we know it, is rapidly changing.

In my opinion, not since Gutenberg's invention of the printing press has their been as dramatic change in the distribution of the written word as we are experiencing right now. The combination of the Internet and mobile e-readers will change forever, the way mankind interacts with the written word.

From now on, I'll be posting on the research, the back story if you will, for my session. Of course, I'll try not to give a way the milk for free, but I hope this background will serve as a valuable resource to compliment my session. Here's looking forward to an amazing conference.
