Several interesting media and reading studies released recently. First, Book Industry Study Group released a comprehensive report on ebooks titled Consumer Attitudes toward E-Book Reading (http://ow.ly/WUYw). This is a major study with many contributors and sponsors, but mostly based on reader opinion polls.

The pricing ranges from $195 for basic information to $5000 for real-time updates and information. But let me save you big spenders $5000. BISG says what we already know. Computers are the #1 choice for reading e-books, Kindle is #2, Sony is #3. There are breakdowns by age group, gender and more, of course. Also interesting tidbits on reader trends that say as many as 20% of readers have switched permanently from print to e editions. Not sure that's actually the case, but it's part of the study.

Another recent study took a look a digital media use. This study by Kaiser Family Foundation says digital media use is way up, especially for kids and teens (http://ow.ly/YEHF) The trends are a big change from 5 years earlier (http://ow.ly/YEJz).
