The 40th anniversary of the Internet RFC

I'm a day late, but in yesterday's New York Times, Stephen Crocker describes how he wrote the first RFC. I think this is an appropriate time to point to an old article of mine (for which I interviewed Crocker and many others) about RFC 1287, "Towards the Future Internet Architecture."
