Latest words for living when writing for O'Reilly

While doing preliminary work on the 3rd edition to the LPI Linux Certification in a Nutshell, I've come across the following words, but didn't really know what they meant:

  • Splunge

  • Flashpacker

Well, I've come across an article that explains one of them:

I feel so much better now, though I've never achieved flashpacker status. The term "toxic debt" is also mentioned in the article - I know what that means. Why else do you think I'm writing?

At any rate, when it comes to developing a great idea for writing a book, or even helping market a book, at least I don't need to say "Splunge?"

James
